The Sustainable Transport seminar series
In 2009 the LGiU is teaming up with the Campaign for Better Transport to offer a series of four interrelated seminars with support from the Department for Transport.
The seminars will be on:
Climate change and local transport May 6th
Local Transport Plans and sustainable transport June 16th
Keynote: Paul Clark , Minister for Transport
Local partnerships for transport October
Transport and economic development December
For organisations or individuals who are members of the LGiU or the Campaign for Batter Transport we are offering a special discount. If you sign up for all four events the total cost will be £400 plus VAT for members (a saving of £200). The same person does not have to attend each event.
For organisations who are not members of either organisation then the total price is £600 plus VAT (a saving of £400). The same person does not have to attend each event.
If you wish you may attend the first event and if you subsequently decide to attend the other three we will honour the discount.
The aim of the Sustainable Transport seminar series is to equip local authorities with the knowledge and skills to navigate three overlapping and increasingly important agenda - better quality transport, climate change and economic development. We have already secured a high level speaker from the Department for Transport for our first event on May 6th and the second event in May will be addressed by a minister.
As soon as we have confirmation of dates we will update you.
